What will I get to do at STEM Career Day?

Students will get to try their hand at various STEM-related tasks led by representatives from over 50 local businesses and universities. A large group hands-on activity will challenge students to apply their engineering talents to the solution of problem, while working together as a team.

New in 2016, students will have the opportunity to choose between two itineraries. Younger students who are interested to learn about STEM fields can join our "STEM Explorers" track. Older students who already know they will pursue STEM but have college and career questions can join tour "STEM Careers" track.

Attendees also get a free lunch and t-shirt for their participation in the event.

Who can participate in this event?

Goodyear welcomes any young men and young women enrolled in grades six through 12 to participate in this free event. Teachers, parents and guardians are welcome to accompany their students to the event as well.

PLEASE NOTE: Parents must sign a Consent and Release Form electronically during the registration process. If not completed, students must bring a signed paper form on event day in order to be allowed to participate. Goodyear will not allow students to participate in the event without a signed copy of this form. You can download and view the form by clicking here.

So, how do I register?

Student registration will open on Monday, January 4, 2016, and will remain open until Friday, March 11, 2016.

Individual registrants will be assigned to a group with the students choice of track (STEM Explorer of STEM Careers) in mind. He or she will walk through the day with this group and will participate in all hands-on, engineering challenges, interactive activity sessions and lunch with this group. Groups will be limited in size to 30 students. Parents and guardians are welcome to accompany their student and his or her group as they rotate through the various parts of the day.

Groups that register will walk through the day together and will participate in all hands-on engineering challenges, interactive activity sessions and lunch. Goodyear will make every effort to keep those that register as a group together. Due to group size, some groups may be split to accommodate the 30 person group size limit.

All individuals and groups who submit applications for monetary awards must be present at the event to receive the award if chosen.
