Students will get to try their hand at various STEM-related tasks led by representatives from over 50 local businesses and universities. A large group hands-on activity will challenge students to apply their engineering talents to the solution of problem, while working together as a team. Attendees also get a free lunch and t-shirt for their participation in the event. A schedule can be viewed here. Parents who would like to attend this event with their student are more than welcome to do so.
Goodyear welcomes any young men and young women enrolled in grades six through 12 to participate in this free event. Teachers, parents and guardians are welcome to accompany their students to the event as well. The event is FREE to all.
PLEASE NOTE: Students MUST bring a signed, printed copy of the Consent and Release Form to Engineering Career Day 2014 in order to be allowed to participate. Goodyear will not allow students to participate in the event without a signed, printed copy of this form. You can download the form by clicking here.
Student registration will open on Monday, January 5, 2015, and will remain open until capacity of 2,000 students is achieved, or until Friday, March 13, 2015. Company registration is currently open, and can be accessed by clicking here.
Individual registrants will be assigned to a group with the students age in mind. He or she will walk through the day with this group and will participate in all hands-on engineering challenges, interactive activity sessions and lunch with this group. Groups will be limited in size to 30 students. Parents and guardians are welcome to accompany their student and his or her group as they rotate through the various parts of the day.
Groups that register will walk through the day together and will participate in all hands-on engineering challenges, interactive activity sessions and lunch. Goodyear will make every effort to keep those that register as a group together. Due to group size, some groups may be split to accommodate the 30 person group size limit.
All individuals and groups who submit applications for monetary awards must be present at the event to receive the award if chosen.
