  1. How often are jobs posted on the Career Site?
    • Available jobs are posted on the Career Site on a regular basis so check back daily or sign up to be notified when a posting meets your criteria. To sign up for a job notification, click on Job Opportunities on the Careers page, search for the type of job you are interested in, press search and click "Notify Me" to add your contact information to register for future job opportunities.

    • To sign up for a job notification, click on Job Opportunities on the Careers page, search for the job you are interested in, press search and click "Notify Me" to add your contact information to register for future job opportunities.
  3. What should I expect during the interview process?
    • The interview process typically begins with a phone interview. If you progress beyond the phone interview stage, you may be invited for an onsite interview or, in some cases, a video interview.
  4. What is the dress code at Goodyear?
    • The dress code will vary depending on the location and the position, but business-casual attire is generally considered appropriate, unless a specific work assignment requires otherwise. If you are invited to interview with us, please ask your interviewer for more specific information about the dress code for the position you are interested in.

Referring Jobs and/or Applicants

  1. While searching for jobs, I saw a job that would be good for a friend. Can I send information on this job to him or her?
    • Yes. While viewing a job description, click the "Refer a Friend" button at the bottom of the page. You will be taken to a new page where you can enter contact information for your friend. Once you've entered the information completely, click "Refer a Friend." Your friend will receive an e-mail acknowledgement with a link to our Careers page. Your friend will be required to complete an application in order to be considered for hire.
  2. I was referred by an employee of Goodyear. What will happen next?
    • If you've been referred by one of our employees, then you will receive an e-mail acknowledgement inviting you to apply for the job you were referred to. You must complete an application in order to be considered for hire and if your information is identified as a match for the job, you will be contacted by a member of our recruiting team.

Searching and Applying for Jobs

  1. What is Goodyear's hiring process?
    • The hiring process can vary based on many factors and circumstances. Generally speaking, the process typically involves these steps:
      1. Apply -- The first step is to create a profile and apply online via our career website. You may also be asked to answer a few questions to help Goodyear determine your basic qualifications for the position. If you progress past this stage, you may be asked to complete an online assessment.
      2. Interview -- We have a few different types of interviews that we conduct throughout the process. The initial interviews will be either conducted over the phone or in person. Once we have completed our initial interview, we will determine which candidate or candidates to bring on site for another round of interviews. This is usually a series of more in-depth interviews that will likely be with your potential supervisors and other members of the leadership team. In some cases, you may be invited back for additional interviews. Please note that our interview process for college recruiting may differ.
      3. Offer -- If you are the candidate selected for the position, Goodyear will extend an offer of employment that will generally be given over the phone by the person to whom you will report. After the verbal offer, we will send a more formal offer letter to you.
      4. Pre-Employment Processing -- For most positions, you may be required to complete some additional steps as part of the hire process. This includes a drug screen, background check, and post-offer/pre-employment examination, when applicable. You will be contacted by a company representative to initiate these processes.
  2. How do I find out about job openings at Goodyear?
    • Current job postings can be found by using our search tool. Sometimes we may advertise positions on other recruitment sites as well.
  3. Do jobs remain posted after they are filled?
    • No, job postings are removed as soon as they are filled. Postings can change daily so it is recommended that you sign up for Job Alerts in order to be up to date on what positions are available.
  4. If I apply for an open position, will I be contacted after my resume is received?
    • After submitting your resume, you will receive a confirmation email stating that we received your application.
  5. How can I check on the status of my application?
    • You can contact the Candidate Care Line at 866-713-0051 to check on the status of your application at any time. Also, you can go to www.goodyear.com/careers/join and click on "check your application status." Enter your email and password to find out the status of your application.
  6. How much time do I have to respond to a notification I receive about an opportunity?
    • It is impossible to determine the amount of time that it will take to fill any position so when you see a position that you are interested in, please complete the application as soon as possible.
  7. Can I apply for multiple positions or at multiple locations?
    • Yes, you can apply for multiple positions and at multiple locations.
  8. Do I need to reapply if I see a new position I'm interested in?
    • Yes, please apply to any additional positions that you are interested in as soon as they become available.
  9. What is The RightThing?
    • The RightThing (or RTI) is a company that assists Goodyear with its recruitment and staffing needs. The Right Thing will assist you throughout the recruiting process and will serve as a representative of Goodyear.

Campus Recruiting Specific Questions

  1. How can I find out when Goodyear will be at my university?
    • Check with the campus career services office at your university to see if and when Goodyear will be visiting your school. As a student, the best way to find a job within our companies is to meet us at a campus event. In general, we recruit graduating students for full-time jobs and internships between August and November each year. However, positions could be posted year-round so it is recommended that you register for job notifications.
    • If Goodyear is not scheduled to visit your campus, you can explore and apply for student job opportunities on this site during those periods.
  2. Does Goodyear have internship programs for university students?
    • Yes. We have internship and co-op assignments for students who are currently enrolled in undergraduate, MBA and advanced-degree programs. Under most circumstances, applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.
    • Recruiting for these programs usually takes place between August and November each year. Visit your campus career services office to find out when Goodyear will visit your university.
  3. Does Goodyear have internship or and leadership programs for graduate students seeking an MBA or other advanced degrees?
    • Almost all of our short-assignment jobs for MBA and advanced degree students are internships. Recruiting for internship and leadership programs usually takes place during the fall quarter or semester each year. Visit your campus career services office to find out when Goodyear will visit your university.
  4. If I get an interview during on campus recruiting, what should I bring with me?
    • Review the Goodyear website to learn more about us and our opportunities and bring any questions that you might have as well as a current resume and unofficial transcript to your interview. Please make sure that your name is printed on the unofficial transcript.
  5. How long do internship positions last?
    • Internship assignments are normally 10 to 12 weeks in length and usually take place during the months of June, July, and August. We attempt to accommodate a student's specific academic schedule when possible.
  6. How can I apply for an internship or leadership program?
    • As a student, the best way to find an internship assignment within our company is to meet us at a campus event. Check with the campus career services office at your university to see if and when Goodyear will be visiting your school.
    • If Goodyear is not scheduled to visit your campus, you can explore and apply for student job opportunities on this site during those periods.
  7. What type of projects are given to interns?
    • Interns are a valuable resource in our search for future leaders across Goodyear. Assignments can vary across our departments depending on the business needs of the organization. Typically, internship assignments may include analyzing data, creating a plan of action and implementing a new initiative or process. Our interns are given substantial projects that will make an impact on the company as a whole. Goodyear also provides a number of scheduled activities in order for interns to obtain a broader perspective on our leadership principles, values, and longer-term business challenges.
  8. What is expected from interns, co-ops and leadership program associates?
    • Goodyear expects all employees to understand and align with our values and leadership principles. We value our interns, co-ops and leadership program associates and utilize our campus programs as an opportunity to identify our future leaders.
  9. Can I get course credit from my university for participating in an internship?
    • Each university has different policies on how credit can be obtained through internships. Please contact your career services or academic advisor for additional information on your university's policies.

Technical Issues

  1. My password is not working or I forgot my password. What should I do?
    • Once you have found a position that you are interested in applying for, click Apply Now to enter the Applicant Tracking System. From this page, you will have the choice to have a new password emailed to you. If you have never given us a password, choose to have one emailed to you and we will generate one and send it to your registered email address. You can change it to something easier for you to remember later in the process.
