LETTER FROM THE CHAIRMAN

On behalf of all the Goodyear associates worldwide, I invite you to review a summary of how we are managing our company in a responsible manner. There really is only one responsibility of business – to use its resources and engage in activities designed to increase the returns to its shareholders. When we design products that perform well, build them with consistency and market them aggressively, we satisfy that requirement.

We understand, however, that our obligations do not end there. We have a responsibility to provide associates with better and safer ways of working, dispose of materials in ways that do not harm the environment and undertake activities in support of the communities where we live and work. To meet these responsibilities, we follow an integrated course of action that maximizes success, minimizes harm, builds accountability, drives business results and sustains our operations.
