Bertram Bell was elected assistant secretary and associate general counsel in August 2000.
Bell joined Goodyear as an attorney in 1976, shortly after earning a law degree from Case Western Reserve University. In 1980, he became an attorney with Goodyear Aerospace, then a wholly-owned subsidiary.
In 1986, he was named secretary and counsel of Goodyear Aerospace and, from 1987 to 1993, he was vice president and counsel of Loral Defense Systems-Akron.
In 1993, he returned to the law department at Goodyear and, since 1997 until his election to his current position, worked with the company's Latin American business unit.
A native of Alliance, Ohio, Bell was born Sept. 13, 1951. He and his wife, Ophelia, live in Akron and have three children.
