Executive Leadership
Joe Ruocco was named Senior Vice President of Human Resources for The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, effective Aug. 1, 2008.
In this role, Ruocco provides strategic direction and business leadership for Goodyear's global human resources operation, which supports more than 70,000 associates worldwide.
Ruocco joined Goodyear from General Electric Co., where he spent 23 years in human resources positions of increasing responsibility and breadth. In 2002, he was named vice president, human resources, GE Industrial Systems and appointed a GE company officer. He was named vice president of human resources for GE Consumer and Industrial when Consumer Products and GE Industrial Systems merged in December 2003. His role was expanded in December 2006 to include human resources responsibility for GE's Industrial segment, which at the time was a $35 billion division of GE with approximately 100,000 employees.
Born on July 9, 1959, Ruocco is a native of Corning, N.Y., and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y., and an MBA from Syracuse University in Syracuse, N.Y.
He and his wife Lynne have two sons.
