Charles L. Sinclair

Charles L. (Chuck) Sinclair was named senior vice president, global communications of The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in June 2003. Sinclair is responsible for leading Goodyear's global team of communications professionals in the execution of a communications strategy and providing counsel to senior leadership on issues impacting the company.

Previously, Sinclair led communications for Goodyear's North American Tire business for more than six years as vice president, public relations and communications since February 2002 and, prior to that, as director, public relations beginning in January 1997.

Sinclair joined Goodyear in 1984 as public relations manager at the company's Engineered Products plant in Lincoln, Nebraska.

He moved to Goodyear's corporate headquarters in Akron, Ohio, in 1987 as publications editor and was named public relations manager, general products in 1990. He was named manager, public relations, North American Tire in 1992 and manager, public affairs in 1993. Sinclair became Goodyear's manager, national media relations in 1995.

Prior to joining Goodyear, Sinclair was a sports reporter and columnist for the Journal and Star newspaper in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Sinclair was born in Rock Rapids, Iowa, on June 23, 1951. He is an alumnus of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and completed the Mahler executive leadership program as well as those at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia, and the Center for Creative Leadership in Greensboro, North Carolina.
