Thomas H. Weidemeyer, formerly senior vice president and chief operating officer of United Parcel Service Inc., was elected to The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company’s Board of Directors on December 9, 2004.
Weidemeyer served as senior vice president and chief operating officer of UPS from 2001 until his retirement in 2004. He also served as president of UPS Airlines since 1994.
Starting with UPS in 1972, Weidemeyer held various assignments of increasing responsibility including manager of the Americas International operation. He was named vice president of UPS Airlines in 1990. He was named a UPS senior vice president and UPS Airlines president in 1994.
Weidemeyer is also a director of NRG Energy Inc. and Waste Management Inc.
