AKRON, Ohio, Nov. 3 - Goodyear is offering two new sizes in its line of Dyna Torque Radial tractor tires that are designed for speeds of up to 40 miles per hour for sprayer equipment.
The tire now is available in 380/85R46 and 320/85R34.
With an overall diameter of 71.8 inches and an overall width of 15.2 inches, the 380/85R46 is capable of handling a load of 6,600 pounds at 47 pounds per square inch at speeds of up to 40 miles per hour.
The 320/85R34 has an overall diameter of 55.4 inches and an overall width of 12.6 inches. It is rated for a 40-mph load of 4,400 pounds at 47 psi.
"Many farmers are driving their sprayer equipment at higher speeds as they go from field to field, which increases the demands on tire performance. These new Dyna Torque Radial sizes are designed specifically to increase tire life under these high-speed conditions," said Dave Weed, Goodyear's Applications Engineer for Farm Tires.
The Dyna Torque Radial's three-pitch tread design improves traction, while the casing is designed to increase the life of the tire. Compared to a bias tire, the Dyna Torque Radial requires less time in the field, thus reducing fuel costs and extending casing life.
