Goodyear To Exhibit at Latino Truck Show Oct. 17-18

Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. will be displaying its wide selection of commercial tires and featuring its emergency roadside service, fleetHQ, Oct. 17 and 18 at the Truck Show Latino in Pomona, California.

Visit the Goodyear booth to learn more about how Goodyear and its dealers through fleetHQ can help truck operators regardless of size get back on the road in as little time as possible with no incidence fee. What’s more, they’re billed the same price for tires on the road as they pay at home. Learn how Goodyear’s retreaded tires can significantly reduce tire costs while offering comparable performance to new tires. Also find out how Goodyear’s fuel-efficient tires can improve fuel economy by up to 4 percent.

Goodyear’s 2008 North American Highway Hero, owner-operator Jorge Orozco-Sanchez of Colorado, will also be at Goodyear’s booth, No. 342, to meet attendees during the two-day show. The show is being held at the Fairplex in Pomona. Orozco-Sanchez was one of 20 individuals from throughout the United States and Canada recently chosen by the Carnegie Hero Fund Commission as recipients of the Carnegie Medal.

Latinos play a crucial role in the U.S. economy and in the U.S. trucking industry. Did you know that:

  • The size of the Hispanic market is $798 billion, or about 8.4 percent of the $9.5 trillion U.S. market;
  • Of the 300 million consumers in the United States, 44.3 million, or 15 percent, are Hispanic;
  • More than 60 percent of California’s owner-operators are Latino;
  • 63 percent of all truck drivers in California, 62 percent of all truck drivers in Texas and 51 percent of all truck drivers in Arizona are Latino;
  • There are 23,000 Latino-owned transportation companies in the L.A. metro area alone.

To serve the U.S. trucking industry and the Hispanic market, Goodyear offers a variety of steer, drive, all-position, and trailer tires for commercial vehicles to meet the wide range of needs and budgets of truck operators. Goodyear delivers service through more than 2,000 locations in North America, including 190 Wingfoot Commercial Tire Systems’ locations and 30 Pilot trucks stops.
