I previously ran the Supercar G:2's as my last set on my '11 GT500. They were great for a solid summer and then started to fade fast as expected. The G:2's seem to be discontinued, so I decided to try the new 3R. As good as the G:2's were in the warm weather (70 and up), these tires are even better. I can actually hook up with a minimal 10 feet wheel spin, which is basically ideal, and then no worries. Given that these tires have a minimal tread depth from the factory, I don't expect to get more than this summer out of them. But for what they are designed to do, which is flat out performance on road and track days, I can't think of a better tire out there that's offered in my front/rear size combo.

Incredible grip, handling, and stickyness for a street tire. Caution for anyone in cold climates as they are extremely loose in temps under 50 degrees and horrible under 40 even when warmed. But for the street or track they are my favorite after owning a C7 Z06 Z07 package, X6M, Wrangler Rubicon, Miata, etc...also keep in mind if you don't push them hard they still only last around 4k miles, which has been my experience. Still, worth the money any day for the technology and 1.1g handling grip they provide.

Once the tires are at temp they provide absolutely remarkable handling and performance. Wet conditions are surprisingly good considering the nature of this tire. However, during wet conditions practice patience and focus on tire feedback. Grip is temperamental under heavy acceleration in the wet and should not be trusted. Road noise is more than acceptable and mostly quiet. I personally wouldn’t hesitate to put this tire on any performance car where positive track behavior is in demand. Current car specs for this review are as follows, 3780 lb car, 651 horsepower, 600 ft. Lb of torque. And yes, I will be buying another set before these run out. Other reviews claim 10000 plus miles with tread life remaining. I don’t think that claim would be realistic if you drove strictly on a track at high speeds. This review based on 3000 miles of use, mostly in dry conditions.
